URAT is a tourism consortium founded in 1983 by a small group of local restaurant owners. Today it counts some 130 accommodations of every type, restaurants and activity services located in the eight municipalities that surround Lake Trasimeno. Together with the local administrations, it proposes and plans promotions for the entire area with the aim to promote Umbria and Lake Trasimeno as worthwhile holiday destinations. The promotional initiatives are yearly and include a printed and telematic catalogue which doubles as a tool for promotion and hospitality, a Website www.lagotrasimeno.net, participation at trade fairs in Italy and abroad and the creation of other industry initiatives aimed at the institutional promotion of the Consortium.
